1 / A Clinical Guide to Advanced Minimum Intervention Restorative Dentistry

This book by Prof. Avijit Banerjee is an excellent step-by-step guide to implementing prevention in practice. It’s fully evidence-based, covering everything from basic prevention to detailed protocols, supported by clear colour photographs. The book also includes quizzes to test your knowledge. It’s a great resource for all members of the preventive oral healthcare team, whether you're a student or an experienced professional.
2 / The Perio Brain app

Available for download on Android and Apple, this app promises "a quick and easy way to formulate a periodontitis diagnosis… and to find a periodontitis diagnosis using values from a periodontal assessment" - and it delivers. I've found this incredibly helpful in my daily practice, and it can benefit any dentist, dental professional, or student who needs to diagnose periodontitis and formulate a quicker diagnosis.
3 / Mind Ninja | Workplace Wellbeing

I find it very useful to build connections within our community. It’s always inspiring for me to see different approaches. Mind Ninja was founded by Dr. Mahrukh Khwaja, a dentist and psychologist. I follow Mahrukh’s page on Instagrambecause, as a dentist herself, she shares helpful posts created with empathy for busy clinicians.
4 / Ikigai: The Japanese secret to a long and happy life

I also love this book by Héctor García and Francesca Miralles, and read it from cover to cover. It explores the concept of finding your purpose, which is important to keep one motivated in work and life. To unlock what makes you happy and excited, and, more importantly, how to create a life around it.
5 / Duolingo app

I am loving learning Spanish on the Duolingo app (available for download on Android and Apple). I enjoy a new challenge and have always wanted to learn enough Spanish to get by on holiday. What I love about this approach is the gamification, convenience and portability. Instead of just scrolling on my phone, I can make progress in my learning. While not strictly related to oral health, I believe in developing oneself as a rounded person and challenging different parts of the brain, and this app proves that learning can also be fun!
